Gelila is an ardent activist and filmmaker
Gelila appears just as passionate and motivated as her rumored ex-partner. She is, on her site, “a committed champion for young girls’ right to equal opportunities in her native country, Ethiopia, and around the world.” Gelila’s activist work focuses on women and girls’ rights, clean water, and education. Gelila made her directorial debut in 2019, with the documentary Anbessa john wick 5, which premiered in the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival.
Gelila also started out as a model
Aside from being an activist and filmmaker, Gelila has had a modeling career with some of the biggest names in the industry. She has been modeling since 2006, according to her website, and has been with Ford Models in New York and Paris. She is currently with Elite Models in the US and Premium Models in Paris. She has walked for Michael Kors, Tory Burch, and Anna Sui, and has done campaigns for Levi’s and Pantene.

Gelila’s achievements are extraordinary. Besides her activism, modeling, and filmmaking, Gelila is also an author. Her first book, Guzo!, was published in 2018 and describes a day in the life of six different tribes in Ethiopia.
