Shinfield Studios is a new and exciting center for film, television, and production in the UK. They already have 13 sound-proofed and air-conditioned stages. Over the next year, more film and television studio facilities will open, and as a result, 5 more stages will be available by 2024.
The Shinfield Studios is just a 20 minute drive from central Reading. Situated within the Thames Valley Science Park, the studios have excellent transport links. Once complete, Shinfield Studios will be among the largest studio complexes in the UK, boasting 18 sound stages, contemporary office spaces, and a post-production building that includes a cinema, making it ideal for hosting the largest blockbusters.
Winnersh Film Studios
Winnersh Film Studios is the new film studio facility based off junction 10 of the M4. They have two operational sound stages, with offices and workshops, and are operated by Stage Fifty, a world-class sound stage company. This year, they’re opening the remaining four state-of-the-art stages, one of which is a 30,000 sq. ft. stage that will contain the world’s largest VP volume. Once fully finished, the facility will have six stages and 120,000 sq. ft. of stage space. The first booking they received was The Boys in the Boat, a feature film directed by George Clooney, which stirred a lot of buzz in Reading. The studio is about a 15-minute drive and an 8-minute train ride from PREMIER SUITES Reading, where you would get off at Triangle Railway station.
