Staycation ideas planning has numerous factors to consider. With the rise of staycations over the past year, we’ve become better acquainted with the places we frequent. People seem to be more willing to visit their point of origin.

As people from the USA, we have so many opportunities for staycations. There’s so much within the country that it’s easy to assume staycations will always be an option. It’s just a matter of grabbing your wellies and brolly! Kidding. Just kidding, I’ll be more serious now. How do we go about planning the best staycation?

Budget What can you afford?

This will determine what staycation options you have. Though staycations can be cheaper than intercontinental travel, they don’t have to be. In fact, some staycations will cost just as much (or more) than travel. Equally, some stately homes in the UK can cost a lot, depending on their grade listing and exclusivity. This makes it even more important to set a budget, and consider planning with a friend to share the costs.

Create an Itinerary

Just like any other travel plans, I think a staycation ideas should start with an itinerary, too. Google, Instagram, Pinterest, and travel blogs are great places to help find ideas for things to do. You’d be surprised by dedicated homebody travelers. You can even ask someone who has already been to your planned destination if you’re undecided. This could help you create a more precise itinerary.

Unplug

In outlining your perfect staycation, the first step should be to completely disconnect. Just because your destination is an hour away from your house doesn’t give you the excuse to work. Leave your work phones, laptops, and other devices at home. Bring a book and do some exploring. Try to avoid scrolling through social media. Many people think staycations are just an extension of your life at home. You should get right at rest, though, and avoid any home responsibilities.

Wip your Camera out

Memories form faster with photographs, and the capturing of moments becomes easier with the perfect staycation. We’re blessed with nature’s beauty in the USA. Countless stunning photographs have been captured from the picturesque countryside. It’s reasonable to assume other countries share the same potential. The richer your adventures, the greater the hidden beauty. Plenty of pictures, joy and memories await!

Cinnamon Treats

This is the first time I am saying it and it certainly won’t be the last. With the treats, I mean something like a spa or a massage. It’s your staycation! Some self pampering for the spa is a perfect addition. Let’s not lie date night ideas, it feels great! My partner and I have gotten spa services and bespoke tours for staycation ideasstaycation ideas scattering, and it adds that extra magic to the experience.

Why not a Guided Tour?

This may not be for everyone, but I highly recommend it. I think it’s a great idea for a staycation. I think the staycation is what gets most of us to travel outside the city. I think it is a good idea to travel to a new city and experience it for a few days. Once the experience is complete, you can return home with a complete package staycation ideas including great photos and memories.

Since you’re on vacation, you might want to think about something you can check off your bucket list, or something you can do that you haven’t done yet.

Sleep in and Stay up late

Out of all the things you can do on vacation, sleeping in and staying date night ideas is probably the best. It brings some kind of thrill that you shouldn’t be doing it. Especially if you’re doing it on a school night. So a staycation is a great excuse to do just that. While you’re planning your staycation, keep in mind that it should be relaxing. You don’t have to do and see everything.

Book a fancy restaurant for the last night

This is hands down one of my favourite things to do. It’s your last night with a different city or at least different location from home staycation ideasstaycation ideas, what do you do to set it off to a special start? Reserve a fancy restaurant for the last night of staycation. Just like the pamper session mentioned above, it adds a special touch and closes out the planner session in a fancy way.

Try something fun

I’m just saying, maybe try checking in with a different first name? On our last staycation, we saw that our names were written so throughout our stay, we were Mr. and Mrs. Clem.

I haven’t a clue how my last name turned into Clem staycation ideas, but it had me snorting the entire time. So, for future reference, I want to check in as Beyoncé and Shawn Carter. Maybe that is too obvious so I will need to come up with something more low-key but still dramatic.

Clean your house

My last point is to clean your house before you leave. Or, at the very least, clean your room. Tidy up as much as you can with a wipe down, some fresh sheets, a bit of dish duty, and a clutter-free space so that your home is spick and span.

Why do I say this? Because upon your return, you will want to enter into your home as pristine as it was when you left. I am sure it is your home that will wear you down after a bunch of adventuring and all the staycation fun. So do not let the house ruin the return complements your stay.

These are some fun tips, and they are not all inclusive when it comes to planning the perfect staycation ideas . There may be some tips that are more specific and tailored to how you travel. I like to look at the fun side of things, and as always, these tips show in how I like to travel. Whatever you end up doing and what tips you decide to use, just enjoy your staycation to the fullest, and make sure to take a lot of pictures to capture the memories!
