Numerous food recalls have occurred this year; the latest to join the list is America’s most beloved snack: chocolate. The Weaver Nut Company, along with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has pulled two popular candy products from shelves.
About a month ago, some of Wells’ ice cream products were recalled “due to the possibility of plastic contamination.” The recall resulted in the disposal of 17,800 cartons of ice cream and frozen yogurt. Discover below which candy products were recalled and the reasons behind the recall.
Which Chocolates Were Part Of The Recall?
The FDA’s June 18, 2025, press release listed the following recalled products:

- Nonpareils, Semi-Sweet Chocolate (White Seeds); Item D2645 – Lot #(s) 204214-RL, 204214, 204215, 224221, 224222, 224223, 135215, 135216, 135217, 135220, 135221, 145204, 145205-1, 145207-1, 145210-1
Why Were The Nonpareil Chocolates Recalled?
The FDA’s press release says the recalled Nonpareil semi-sweet Christmas and white seeds chocolates were “due to possible undeclared milk allergens.”
The FDA said, “Consumers who have the product and who have a weaver nut chocolate allergy are strongly urged not to eat the product. If you do have a milk allergy, the product should be thrown away or you can take it back to the place you bought it and get your money back.”
According to a release by the Weaver Nut Company, “the problem was found through a complaint by a wholesale customer when the shipment did not match the updated product specifications,” followed by a milk test that confirmed the milk presence.

That lack of a warning could be a big problem for consumers who have a milk allergy, as they can have severe, and even potentially fatal, allergic reactions. There are no known cases of illness related to this product recall.
The FDA revealed that the weaver nut chocolate recall Nonpareils problems “were identified through a wholesale customer complaint after shipment inconsistently align with updated product specifications, followed by a lab test that confirmed the presence of milk [sic].”
The FDA has issued a Class I weaver nut company chocolate recall for milk-free chocolate products from Weaver Nut Company that reportedly contain milk. According to a Newsweek article, the recall was triggered by a customer complaint and subsequent lab tests confirmed the presence of milk in the milk-free product. The voluntary recall was announced on June 17. The presence of undeclared milk in the chocolate products may pose a serious or life-threatening risk to consumers, and a complaint to the FDA prompted the announcement of the recall, which has been categorized as a Class I recall.

The FDA has announced that weaver nut company chocolate recall has recalled all semi-sweet chocolate Nonpareils with white or Christmas-colored seeds manufactured with specific lot codes and that have been distributed in the United States. The recall is due to the potential presence of undeclared milk allergens that prompted the voluntary recall.
The recall affects Nonpareil Semi-Sweet Chocolate with Christmas Seeds and White Seeds.
The recalled Nonpareil Semi-Sweet Chocolate Christmas Seeds has item number 47518 and the following lot numbers: 204206, 204207, 204208, 204209, 204212, and 224225.
The affected Nonpareils, Semi-Sweet Chocolate White Seeds has item number D2645 and lot codes 204214-RL, 204214, 204215, 224221, 224222, 224223, 135215, 135216, 135217, 135220, 135221, 145204, 145205-1, 145207-1, and 145210-1.
These products were sold in numerous retail and grocery stores across the country.
The weaver nut company chocolate recall was started after the company’s own investigation was initiated based on a wholesale customer complaint regarding a shipment that did not meet the newly revised product specifications. This was followed by a milk presence confirmation test.
Consumers with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a life-threatening allergic reaction if the recalled products are consumed.
I Bought Nonpareils Chocolates, Now What?
The FDA recommends that all USA consumers inspect the product for any purchased Nonpareils. Based on the FDA press announcement, any consumer who purchased a recalled product is entitled to a full refund, even if the product has been opened.
